I have been working in upscale spas since the early days of this century: first as a massage therapist in 2004, and then branching into esthetics in 2018. Throughout my career, I have trained under respected teachers from around the world. While I appreciated my high class initiation into all things spa, working within a corporate structure was not my cup of moonshine.
I wanted to ditch my “spa persona” (if you know about that term, you know) and instead, find a space with an easygoing atmosphere. I wanted clients to feel welcome even if they said f*ck or showed up without fashion on point. Why couldn’t a spa deliver ultra fine services, but feel more like a tattoo shop?
Next, I joined the opening spa team at Amfora Spa Salon in Wallingford. Here I found the welcoming and inclusive vibe I had been looking for. I was (and continue to be) inspired by their work — so inspired, in fact, that I decided to leave so that I could deliver a similar experience in my own neighborhood.
In 2020, I founded Personal Space Esthetics. Today, I serve my South Seattle neighbors as an independent agent of accessible opulence. The purpose of Personal Space Esthetics is to help people celebrate their physical selves: it's about indulgent, honest, effective, personal services in the real world.
Come as you are, leave feeling even better.
